“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
I am newly addicted to living a minimal lifestyle. For the past few days my husband and I have been loading up our car with donations and filling up our trash cans with what can not be donated. The more we free from the house, the easier it is to find other things that we do not need. I hope to get our entire house down to just the essentials by Summers end.
Living a minimal lifestyle to me means being free from possessions which serve no purpose. One of the best ideas I found was to take pictures of those things that I have been hanging on to for sentimental value. I was able to condense 3 boxes of cards, drawings, and notes down to 1 just by snapping pictures of them and discarding them. It’s actually better to be able to click through the images altogether, and the few things I did save are now more noticeable.
I plan on finishing scanning all of my papers onto a hard drive this summer as well. One of my biggest goals is to be paperless! I don’t know if it is possible, but I am going to try.
